It’s time to start building ‘healthy homes’ with fewer materials that are inorganic and healthier.

Since the covid epidemic we spend as much as 90% of our lives indoors and home health and wellness has become a priority.

At Bloc Passive Block Inc we have created a leading edge building system that takes this into consideration by designing our wall product, the Insulated Fireproof Concrete Form (IFCF), with Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC). The IFCF is also resource efficient because it is made from only non-organic materials that contain up to 80% air. There is no manufacturing waste or construction waste.

There is a good opportunity for Canadians to manufacture two new materials that are present in the IFCF. These include Basalt rods and AAC blocks. EPS is the third material but is readily available everywhere in Canada.

The IFCF not only simplifies wall construction but can insulate to passive levels while channelling a minimum of poured concrete to form posts and beams. This further minimizes the use of natural resources while creating greater resilience to extreme weather.

Below is a 1-minute video showing how the builder can use the IFCF to build a wall.
