IFCFs can better accommodate ‘Healthy Home’ builders because they are pre-finished/clad with AAC.
AAC is considered a wood replacement in many countries because it:
Doesn’t warp, rot or off-gas
Improves indoor air quality by equalizing moisture and air temperature
Meets US building codes (8” AAC blocks)
Can be a sustainable way to build energy efficiently (below 20 degrees latitude)
Tried and true globally for 98 years
Reduces onsite construction costs
Accurate factory controlled modular units
Durable, disaster resistant
Pest resistant
Can’t burn
However, in Canada, AAC isn’t insulating enough so the IFCF was developed.
Other reasons to build with IFCF are because they:
Can meet higher energy efficiency standards
Reduces the amount of concrete used in resilient construction
Simpler and quicker to build with
Reduces costs of labour and materials
Can be reused
